Meyer lemon is a hybrid citrus fruit native to China. It is a cross between a citron and a mandarin/pomelo hybrid. Mature trees are around 6 to 10 ft tall with dark green shiny leaves. Flowers are white with a purple base and fragrant.
If you have ever wondered the difference between Meyer lemons and regular lemons, this is what you need to know.
Appearance-Compared with Meyer's similar products, ordinary lemons are significantly larger in size, with thick, textured, bright, sunny, and medium-sized flesh.
Taste-most of us don't eat them for a reason-ordinary lemons are very acidic. They are moderately sweet but are famous for a soup that makes your mouth wrinkle.
Availability-Although trees produce more fruit at certain times of the year, ordinary lemons do not distinguish between seasons. You will find that they can be bought in the produce area all year round.
These citrus plants are NOT seed grown but grown from marcoting therefore you will bare fruit the very first season.
Note: The image of the Meyer Lemon tree is NOT the plant you will receive. Each tree is unique where some may be blooming and many not as well as some are larger than others. However, all of them are healthy and ready to grow for you.
